William's Birthday Weekend

WE cannot believe that he is FOUR!

William woke up on Saturday with a terrible cold and asked if we could stay in the apartment all day to play with his new toys. Since it was ridiculously cold outside, we thought it was probably a good idea! Thankfully, he had a celebration at his school the day before, which was terrific, and his party is not scheduled until this coming Saturday.

School Celebration.  I took a terrific video of the whole event, but this silly blog no longer lets me upload video.  So, below are a couple of photos.  They sang H-A-P-P-Y like the song B I N G O (remove a letter at a time and clap as you sing the verse 5 times) for his birthday song.  The Birthday Boy was in charge of the word HAPPY on the board and crossing off each letter as the song was sung.   William was adorable and so grown-up it was hard to just sit and watch him without giving him a big hug. Following that, there was a story of William's choosing, Little Gorilla, read to the class and then a candle-lighting ceremony.   William blew out his candles and dismissed the class to tables to eat the celebration snack: fresh berries and hershey kisses.

On his way out for Mexican food, wearing Nana's scarf for warmth!

Morning of his big day.  Although under-the-weather, he was excited

upon seeing the "enormous present" awaiting him when he awoke.

His reaction to receiving a long-desired gift from Nana & Grandpa

Loving his card from Auntie Suze

Last but not least, the big reveal

A small part of what was in the big box

At his request, "a birthday pizza with candles for dinner."
This involved no input from us....

Okay... so we went out on Sunday and all of a sudden our 4 year old son,
who does not eat cake, begged for a cake.  We could hardly refuse.  He was so
pleased.  However... after just four bites, he told us that he does not like cake.
Yes, William... WE knew that already! LOL
